From the recording Supermarket Dependency Blues
This "Supermarket Dependency Blues" is also from the 2004 Northstate Songwriter's Association Showcase. It too was recorded on February 28, 2004 at the Old City Hall in Redding, California. I wrote this song when I first started working for the Flynn Family at Pacific Farms and Orchards in Gerber, California. We were launching Pacific Sun Olive Oil and it was around the time of my first harvest. Sometimes, stating the obvious is a form of protest. This song is pretty obvious and I have probably played it 200 times or more. "The supermarket don't grow no weed."
